I just got back from a wonderful vacation to Ohio. We spent two weeks traveling around the Columbus area visiting friends and relatives. It was great. However, after the two weeks were said and done, we put a total of about 2,600 miles on our car. With gas prices like they are, we spent somewhere in the ballpark of about $10 million...
Isn't it ridiculous how expensive gas is? For crying out loud, let's do something about this. This is insane. It's no wonder
congress' approval rating is in single digits for the first time ever--no one will do anything about this energy crisis because everyone caters to the environmentalist radicals. And no, George Bush didn't create an evil-gas-price-hike machine. He spent all his money making the evil hurricane-making machine, remember? And no, "big oil" isn't the problem either. The U.S. Government profits more dollars per barrel from taxes than the oil companies do, and say what you want about the salaries of oil executives, most of the profits gained by oil companies go to the share holders, IE. average middle-class Americans.
So what is the solution? AFA
posted a video of some common sense ideas from Newt Gingrich concerning the issue. Also, here's a
good article written by Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State. In the end, the answer must be found in energy independence and alternative sources. In other words, let's drill and extract the oil we already have (we have multitudes more than Saudi Arabia), build some nuclear power plants, and let innovative new technologies replace our dependence on oil altogether.
Tell Congress to stop pandering to the radical minority and do something.
